Presse-Review: RBS TO EXIT ALL STRUCTURED RETAIL INVESTMENT PRODUCTS

CNBC: „RBS also announced plans to exit all structured retail investor products and equity derivatives to focus on core fixed income on Thursday. The bank said the move will result in job losses, with Reuters reporting that as many as 2,000 employees will be let go.“

Bloomberg: „Royal Bank of Scotland said on Thursday it would cut jobs in a restructuring of its investment bank, which a source familiar with the matter said
would see about  2,000 jobs go. The part-nationalised British lender said it would focus its markets division on its core fixed income products and would exit all structured retail investor products and equity derivatives.

  • Our business will be simpler and more efficient, reducing the complex procedures that generate operational and conduct risk“

Finanzprodukt.ch: In der Schweiz hat die RBS derzeit 1’568 Produkte am Markt: 1050 Mini Futures, 16 Faktor-Zertifikate, 425 Tracker (davon viele mit Endlos-Laufzeit), 3 Bonus-Zertifikate, 12 Barrier Reverse Convertibles und 50 Kapitalschutzprodukte.
In Deutschland sind es rund 45’000 Produkte.
