Gerücht: BNP kauft RBS Strukturierte Produkte Portfolio

Gemäss einem Bericht von Risk.net hat die Royal Bank of Scotland ihr Strukturierte Produkte Portfolio an BNP Paribas verkauft. Der Nominal-Wert des RBS Portfolio belaufe sich auf rund 282 Mrd. Dollar.

Gemäss Risk.net haben 31 potentielle Käufer das RBS Portfolio gesichtet. Davon sind am Schluss mit BNP, Decura, Morgan Stanley und SogGen noch vier übrig geblieben. BNP hat nun das Rennen gemacht. Der Deal ist von BNP und RBS noch nicht offiziell bestätigt. Risk.net  beruft sich dabei auf gut informierte Branchenquellen.

BNP hatte erst kürzlich auch das 12,5 Mrd. Euro schwere Equity Derivatives-Portfolio von Crédit Agricole gekauft und letztes Jahr das verbliebene Business von Macquarie übernommen. (vgl. Ft.com)

Update 18.November: Statement von RBS:

„RBS previously announced that it planned to exit its structured retail investor products and equity derivatives (IP&ED) business. RBS continues to make progress with its sale of the IP&ED business and is in discussions with a third party in connection with such sale. No agreement has been entered into and there is no certainty that an agreement will be reached. A further announcement will be made as appropriate.“
